AI Footprint™ helps you understand the estimated energy behind your AI use in a simple, visual way. We do not collect, store, upload, sell, or share your personal data.
All session information stays on your device. Nothing is sent to our servers because we do not operate any.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 AI session information (stored locally)
When you open AI chats inside the in-app browser, the app stores simple session details on your device, such as:
- Session timestamps
- Provider (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, or Perplexity)
- Estimated model size used (based on your selected profile)
We never read, process, or store the content of your prompts. We cannot access anything you do not explicitly open in the in-app browser.
2.2 Local device information
To ensure the app works properly, we may store small pieces of information locally on your device, such as:
- Your selected model profile
- Your preferences and settings
- Local logs needed for energy estimates
No diagnostic or crash data is transmitted to us. We do not collect analytics, usage tracking, crash reports, or device identifiers.
3. How We Use Information
All information is used only on your device to:
- Calculate approximate energy use (watt-hours)
- Display daily, weekly, monthly, and total energy views
- Show analogies (microwave minutes, phone charges, city skyline)
- Support visualizations inside the app
We do not sell, rent, share, or trade any information.
4. Third-Party Services
AI Footprint™ displays third-party content only when you open ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, or Perplexity inside the in-app browser. Their privacy practices are their own.
AI Footprint™ does not use advertising SDKs, analytics, trackers, or external link integrations.
5. Data Storage
All data created by the app remains on your device and can be deleted at any time by uninstalling the app. We do not operate servers and do not store any user data externally.
6. Children’s Privacy
AI Footprint™ is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
